Pottery Classes At Hampton
We cater for beginners to intermediate and offer 2 to 3 classes each week on: Usually Wednesday morning 9-11 am or afternoon 1-3 pm and Saturday and Sunday mornings. 9-11 am

Come & Go Class

Come and have a go runs 2 hours. I ask each person what colour they like/ I clean their pots up and paint the colour on/ bisque pots/ glaze and then re-fire to higher temp.
Ready to pick up in 2-3 weeks time.
Cost $88 inc GST
(only 4 items will be fired person)
What to bring and wear
Bring a towel, wear closed in shoes
Bring a drink if you need one and a happy deposition.
All clay/ tools are supplied.
5 Week Course
Two hours weekly for 5 weeks.
Weeks 1-3 is learning the fundamentals of the process of the wedging/centering & throwing the clay to make a shape.
Week 4 will be learning the process of decorating their own work.
Week 5 will learn the process of glazing their own works. In between weeks 4 and 5 pots are bisque. After glazing the pots are re-fired to higher temperature.
Cost for this class is $495.00 inc GST
(Each student will choose their best pieces up to 12 pieces that they have made.)

CANCELLATION POLICY: please note that classes are paid for in advance & no refunds will be given for cancellations.
How ever, if you cancel within 48 hours of the classes starting. You will be able to transfer for next time there is available.

Course Outline
Wheel throwing – This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of wheel throwing. You will learn practical skills in the making of functional and decorative forms on the wheel as well as methods of decorating and glazing work. Continuing students are encouraged to develop individual directions with their work by undertaking more focused and challenging projects.
All courses are suitable for beginners to intermediate with previous experience in clay work.
A progressive course structure is provided for beginners whilst experienced students may work on individual learning programs which will assist them in developing a personal direction.
Classes run for 2 hours and numbers are limited to 4 students.
Class Pricing
Bookings are now available for Block 5 Courses.
Full course payment is required to secure a booking.
Course fee: $495 – 5 weeks, (10 hours tuition)
Fee also includes supply of your clay, underglazes, glazes and use of tools and equipment.
Firing cost is extra, ($6.00 per kilo x 2 firings). Firing service is not provided for work made outside of classes.
Each student has a wheel for their exclusive use during throwing classes.
